Furry stools seem to be everywhere lately and I love them, so when I stumbled upon this diy version I knew I had to give it a try! I made my stool slightly larger and changed up the color of the legs and then followed the A Beautiful Mess instructions for the rest!

Furry Stool

What you need:

18″ round wood board

16″ legs

angled leg plates

spray paint

Ikea faux sheepskin

staple gun

Furry Stool

I started by painting my legs green. I wanted to keep the metal part of the legs silver so I taped that section off before painting.

While those were drying I wrapped the round piece of wood with the faux sheepskin from Ikea and secured with staples underneath.

I then drilled the angled leg plates into the wood and attached the legs once they were dry! It took less than 10 minutes to put the whole thing together if you don’t count the time it took for the spray paint to dry!

This was a quick, easy and affordable project and I love the end result! For those of us who aren’t feeling particularly crafty I have included a round up of some of my favorite furry stools below!

Instagram is full of beautiful images and a total overload of inspiration. It is so easy to get sucked into an hour long daydream as you scroll mindlessly through the images of pretty food, travel and stylish people. I thought it would be nice to actually do something with all those pretty photos floating around in Instagram space, so below you will find the first Insta Inspo post! I took a photo from Tessa Neustadt’s Instagram and designed a room inspired by it. Tessa is an amazing photographer who I have a major girl crush on – go check out her profile and amazing print shop. You will find her photo, the design board and product links below!

I love the unexpected pops of primary colors here, which surprises me. I am a huge fan of everything neutral but when you add small pops of color like this you end up with a fun factor that you just don’t get with an all neutral space.

Target has always been one of my favorite places to go, whether I am going with a list of items to purchase or just going to stroll around the store and see what’s new (don’t do this-you will most definitely find four hundred items that you do not need but MUST purchase). They really stepped up their game starting with their fall home collection and the amazing new layout in their stores…but their newest items are INSANE. It seems as though I love (and need to own) every single piece of furniture and décor in the current Threshold collection. Everything is just so pretty-see for yourself below.

As part of a new Love & Nest series, I’ll be sharing 2016 trends for your home throughout the upcoming year. First up is the resurgence of formal dining rooms. They are rumored to make a big come back this year and with them comes the opportunity to really make them the star of your home. The gathering place for dinner parties and family meals, these spaces should be just the right balance of elegance, comfort and fun. Check out the dining room looks I’ve put together below and follow the links to get the look in your own home!

A few weekends ago Kyle and I celebrated our one-year wedding anniversary. I can’t believe a whole year has already come and gone! To celebrate we spent a long weekend in downtown Los Angeles at the Ace Hotel.

It was such a fun little getaway filled with lots of good food, drinks, relaxing, shopping and exploring. I had such a good time that I almost forgot to take photos. The pictures that I did take all seem to be at the Ace on the rooftop where we enjoyed perfect weather, live music and delicious cocktails simultaneously. I could have stayed there forever!

I enjoyed this spot so much that I pulled our photos together and created a design board inspired by the trip. Now you can enjoy the beautiful Ace hotel from the comfort of your home, just follow the links below to bring the look to your living room!
